Well that didn’t work out quite right. After the first set of squares was done I was quite hopeful it would come out looking semi-decent. However my choice to use tape that didn’t have any transparency has led to wonky and offset squares when applying the second coat of silver. The one side came out “ok”, the other side is very bad. Can also see I was a bit light applying the paint in a few small areas.
I didn’t have a turntable for doing the painting, so I’ve been doing one side at a time which has meant this has taken ages to do as I’ve had to wait for paint to be touch dry before doing the other side, dragging it out quite a bit.
New tape with some transparency and a turntable has been ordered. I will re-prime and re-apply the two blacks and try again with the silver.
Some more thought going in to the pattern on the finger grip is also needed!
